How To Restore Your MySQL Database?

Automatically Restore MySQL Database From Backup To Retrieve Your Important Data

  • Download and Install Auto Backup for MySQL Professional Edition

  • Operating Systems: Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP, Server 2016, 2012, 2008, 2003 and latest version.
    MySQL Version: from MySQL 4.1 to the latest version, including 4.1.x, 5.0.x, 5.1.x, 5.5.x, 5.6.x, 5.7.x, etc.
    OS of MySQL Server: All of operating systems that MySQL supported, including Unix, Linux, Windows, Mac OS, Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, FreeBSD, Sun Solaris, Red Hat, etc.
    Task Scheduler: Minutely, Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Special Date.

    After downloading, please open the ZIP archive, double-click "mysql-backup-pro-trial.exe" program to run it, then please follow the wizard to install the software. If you want to install the Windows Service, the Administrator user is recommended.

  • Create Backup Of Your MySQL Database

  • Backup List

    After creating the backups of your MySQL database, when you need to restore database, please select the backup task, then click Backup List on the toolbar of the main window.

    Backup List
    Backup List is a backup manager, it lists all of backups of the selected task, the latest backup is in the end of the list. You can Open the folder of the selected backup to view the backup files.
    Please select a backup which you want to restore, then click on the button Create Restore Task.

  • Create Restore Task

  • When you create a restore task with a backup, most of required information of the restore task will be filled out with the backup information. Most of the time, you just need to click Next button to create a restore task.

  • Task Name

    The default value of Task Name is "Restore_" with the original name of the backup task. You can manually change the task name.
    Click Next to continue.

  • Add Backup Files

    The page shows all of files of the selected backup, all of SQL statements in these backup files will be executed on the destination MySQL server to restore your MySQL database. You can manually add, remove, move up and move down any backup files.
    The SQL files (*.sql) and compressed ZIP files (*.gz, *.7z, *.zip) with password are supported. The compressed files (*.gz, *.7z, *.zip) will be decompressed automatically before restoring. Click Next to continue.

  • Destination MySQL Server

    The values of the destination server will be filled out with the source server of the selected backup, if you want to restore the backup to the other server, please manually change the server information.
    Please grant your MySQL user account the enough privileges to CREATE/DROP DATABASE, TABLE, TRIGGER, VIEW, FUNCTION, PROCEDURE, EVENT and INSERT/DELETE records. Click Next to continue.

  • Buffer Mode

    If the buffer mode is enabled, the software will speed up the restoring by buffer. This option is not required for restoring your MySQL database.

  • Task Scheduler

    Please choose a scheduler for running the task automatically. The software will run the task manually, minutely, daily, weekly, monthly or on the special date. Please set the run time on Settings.

    Click Finish to create a new task, or click Back if you want to review or change any settings.

  • Restore MySQL Database

    When the restore task is created, please Run it to start the restoring and wait the status of the task to Stop. Then please click View Log on toolbar to view the task log of the restore task.


  • View Logs

  • Select a log
    Please select the latest log item then click the button "Display".

    The window shows the latest logs of the restore task, if there is not any error information in the log list, the restore is succeeded.
    If there is any error information with a red icon in the log list, the restore is failed, please solve the problem and try to run the restore task again.
